South Hill Club welcomed the Group
Study Exchange Team from Brazil to
their weekly meeting. The team is
visiting several clubs in District
7600 over the next month. The team
was given tours of local businesses,
schools and of course Lake Gaston.

"People To People" trip to
Europe. His enthusiasm was
contagious as he spoke about his
emersion in the culture of Europe
and the individual countries

Pastor
Leon Dorleans of Haiti Outreach
Ministries addressed the club about
his work in Haiti. His schools have
enrolled over 1,100 students. The
South Hill Rotary Club is partnering
with them by providing water
filtering systems in homes.

South Hill Rotary Club begins
collecting teddy bears to donate to
Gleaning For The World. This annual
collection has produced over 2,500
bears in the last 2 years.
Collection will end Nov. 18, 2009.

began collecting for "Toys For
Tots) in November. They will be
taking items until Dec. 10 and will
then present the toys to the Marine

guest speaker Luanne Bishop gave a
presentation on her farm "Waqua
Creek Kids" where she raises
goats and provides everything from
goats milk to soap. Very interesting

Each
year the club has its annual
Christmas Party and invites the
members spouses. A very fun and
festive evening. The members
gathered for a photo to send to our
adopted soldier in Afghanistan. The
photo will accompany 2 boxes of

"adoptee" Captain Kyle
Strang, USAF (nephew of Rotarian
Randy Cash) received our packages
and was promptly raided by other
members of his unit.
