At the club meeting on July 02, 2009 our change of leadership ceremonies were held. Outgoing Club President Herbert Farrar (R) passes the gavel to incoming club president Charles Wright (L).

Rotarian Lisa Clary asked the club to bring school supplies to recent meetings and the response has been very good. Thus far 2 tubs of supplies have been provided by the members and will be delivered during the first week of school. (08/27/2009)

The South Hill Club welcomed the Group Study Exchange Team from Brazil to their weekly meeting. The team is visiting several clubs in District 7600 over the next month. Our guest speaker C. J. Adcock of Park View High School presented a power point demonstration on his "People To People" trip to Europe. His enthusiasm was contagious as he spoke about his emersion in the culture of Europe and the individual countries visited. (10/08/2009)

Rotarian Mrugesh Thanawala gave the club his "story" based on club tradition of a self introduction. He was entertaining in his presentation on how he came to the U. S. and how he came to South Hill. "Mr. T" as he is known is a 3rd generation Rotarian. Welcome aboard Mr. T. (10/15/2009)

Pastor Leon Dorleans of Haiti Outreach Ministries addressed the club about his work in Haiti. His schools have enrolled over 1,100 students. The South Hill Rotary Club is partnering with them by providing water filtering systems in homes. (10/22/2009)

The South Hill Rotary Club begins collecting teddy bears to donate to Gleaning For The World. This annual collection has produced over 2,500 bears in the last 2 years. Collection will end Nov. 18, 2009. (10/22/2009)

The South Hill Rotary Club officially began collecting for "Toys For Tots) in November. They will be taking items until Dec. 10 and will then present the toys to the Marine Corps League. (11/19/2009)

Our guest speaker Luanne Bishop gave a presentation on her farm "Waqua Creek Kids" where she raises goats and provides everything from goats milk to soap. Very interesting presentation. (12/10/2009)

Each year the club has its annual Christmas Party and invites the members spouses. A very fun and festive evening. The members gathered for a photo to send to our adopted soldier in Afghanistan. The photo will accompany 2 boxes of goodies being sent. (12/17/2009)

Our "adoptee" Captain Kyle Strang, USAF (nephew of Rotarian Randy Cash) received our packages and was promptly raided by other members of his unit. "Everyone" truly appreciated the thoughtfulness and generosity of the Rotary Club members.
